There goes another year, didn't last long did it! Site has had some updates to it, still working on the forums.The site has had a small write up in Bushcraft and survival skills magazine. First time this site has been in print :-))
Update - 28th December 2007
Belated merry christmas to you all and a happy new year. Long time since the last update... I have been doing lots to the back end of the site, when i got chance.I have added a poll or two here.
I'm wrestling with intergrating forums into the site which is giving me some headaches.
I know I removed them before, but there's a lot more interest in the site now, so maybe it's time to put them back. I didn't like the old style anyway, so it's in with the new.
Don't forget to send us your reviews of any sites that you've visited on here. Thanks.
Update - 27th July 2007
Lots of updates to the site. Campfiresburning.org is now 1 year old, slow to get going, still slow now, but getting there.Ads have been added to try help pay for the costs of hosting.
Membership is still rising, 329 at last count. Could do with some more input from you for campsites, anywhere in the world, that allow campfires and reviews about the sites already listed. Some of you must have camped at one of these before.
Gallery update - 29th April 2007
I have made some changes to the photo gallery section. It now allows comments for each picture uploaded and you can also select which of the sites listed the picture is from.Currently it limits to 5 images per page for easier viewing, hopefully.
Please let me know if you have any issues with uploading pictures.

Added some small updates to map and site listings. Cleaned up some code.I am still compiling a list of sites from all over the world, so if you know of any, please email me and let me know.

Small update to listing. When you view site details it now show the number of times the site has been viewed.Update - 20th Feb 2007
Well we made it to 2007. Just some small updates this time, when you hover over the icons on the map they show the name of the site. You can now get directions from your postcode if you have updated your account details.Also added some new sites.
Site Update - 21st Dec 2006
Some updates to the menu navigation and added breakdown of visitors and members online. I have also added another field to the member registration, postcode. This is used for directions within the map page. If you are registered you need to edit your account and add your postcode.The tomtom poi is now available for download under the map page. This is a zip file with the poi file and the icon for tomtom.
News from abroad
I've had quite a lot of requests for sites abroad that allow fires, so i'm gathering sites and adding them to the list. If you know of any sites, then please let me know so i can add them.Cheers.
Site update - 31st Oct 2006
Done some small updates in the back. I have decided to loose the forums as there seems little point in them, you need people in there to make them work.I have been working on the maps section. I like this mapping stuff :) I hope to include some weather forecasts for areas around campsites.
There will soon be a downloadable POI file based on the tomtom format for you to put onto your tomtom device.
News page added - 17th Aug 2006
The site now has a news page for all things site related. News will have all updates to the site that are planned, and some that are not planned.The newest items will appear at the top of this page with older ones below.
AS of the 17th, the site has had some rather large updates. The forum has completely changed, problems with the old format. The new forum will need you to register with it as it is independant of the member center for posting comments etc.
Members login now located on the side menu for easier loging in.
Photo gallery upload now working for members. This will allow members to upload photos to the site for everyone else to see. File size is limited to 1Mb, this is due to web space!!
Maps have been added to the site list. Two maps are available, a UK wide map and an individual map. You can of course zoom in and out and move the maps. The site locations are based on a postcode conversion to long/lat co-ordinates, so some may be a bit out. Anyone who has the correct co-ordiantes, please email them to us so we can update the site.
