Our site is a 2.5 acre level flat field with room for five motor homes or small caravans and about fifty pitches for tents. The site is in approx 1000 acres of woodland with a small river at one side just down an embankment. There is also a disused railway line at the other side which is now called the Calderdale Way a lovely walk that cuts through the woods from Sowerby Bridge to Ripponden .We have three toilets , two hot showers and a washing up sink we have just had installed .We have portaloo emptying facilities for caravans .We do allow campfires but we do stress that a fire must be raised off the ground so that the grass is not burnt. Some old raised barbeques are provided for this purpose depending on availability.Dogs are allowed if they are quiet and friendly (poopa scooping is a must to maintain hygene.)

18th February 2010awesome welcome at this busy and friendly site. we chose it for our first time camping experience and could not have made a better choice! We were clearly the newbies with fresh clean tents and price tags on all the equipment. within an hour of pitching our tent and working out how to get the gas stove lit for a brew and the site warden came round and offered us a fire bucket and bag of logs - well i say fire bucket, it was a knackered old washer drum on breeze blocks, but it made our stay completely worthwhile! Heartily recommended to all. Best bit? you can forage for wood in the hills behind the site for free, quiet off the beaten track site. And they offer a burger delivery service if you forget yours! Awesome huh?
